Groton - Leonardo P. Alla, 73, of 30 Central Ave., Groton, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 29, 1939, in Ilo Ilo, Philippines, the son of Carlos and Mercedes Pedrajas Alla. Leonardo was a self employed plumber and was enjoying his retirement in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife, Amparo, of the Philippines; a son, Amiel Alla; daughters, Missy Gamboa and Karen Alla-Sapan, all of Groton; a brother, Reynaldo of the Philippines; three sisters, Erlina Arnold, of Washington, Virginia Incarnacion and Elisa De los Santos, both of the Philippines; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral service. Interment will be private.
