Groton - Lucille B. Allen, 92, formerly of 251 Drozdyk Drive, Groton, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Fairview in Groton.

She was born Jan. 3, 1920, in New London, the daughter of George and Irene (Fowler) Davis. Mrs. Allen worked as an assembler at Sheffield Tube in New London. She is the wife of the late Elwood Allen.
Lucille loved to sing and entertain others to put a smile on their faces. She was a 30 year member of the Groton Senior Citizens and sang in the Silvertones and Kitchen Clankers singing groups. She was a member of the Rebekahs and the Groton Democratic Women.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Kernozek of Gales Ferry; a son, Richard Allen of Stonington; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; sisters, Beatrice Scott of Mystic and Belle Jordan of Groton.
She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Haley.
Lucille's family would like to give a special thank you to all the wonderful nurses and nursing assistants at Fairview.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, at the Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic. There are no calling hours.
