Marie A. Sullivan

Mystic - Marie A. (Duhatschek) Sullivan, 105, of Mystic, beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Sullivan, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.

Born in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Weirauch) Duhatschek. Marie was employed in the retail business for many years. She was a former member of the New London Senior Citizens and a communicant of St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church in Groton.

She is survived by her four grandchildren, Anne Goselin and her husband, Timothee, of Uncasville, Thomas F. Purcell of Ansonia, Joan Purcell of Mystic and Mary Renski and her husband, Benedict, of Ledyard; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Goselin, Timothee Goselin Jr., Marie Ziesemer, Eva and Emily Renski, Tabatha and Shannon Neiman and Dan Xavier; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alyvia Neiman and Bryce Gagnon.

Marie was predeceased by her daughter, Joan M. Purcell; a grandson, Martin J. Purcell; and her son-in law, Thomas F. Purcell Sr.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Mystic Healthcare & Rehab Center for the care and compassion given to Marie for the past 13 years during her time as a resident.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at a date and time to be announced at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Groton Long Point Road, Groton. There are no calling hours.
