Montville - Marie Poole, 84, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Orchard Grove Nursing Home in Uncasville.
She grew-up in Lansingburgh, N.Y., the daughter of the late Harold A. Wilson Sr. and Maude (Barber) Wilson.
She was the wife of the late Robert W. Poole. After marrying Bob, they traveled together with the Navy to San Diego, Great Lakes, and Philadelphia. They finally settled in Defreestville, N.Y., where they lived for over 35 years and celebrated 51 years of marriage before Bob's passing in 2001.
Marie moved closer to her son Bob Jr. in Lisbon in 2008. Marie was a loving wife, mother, and tireless caregiver for her family. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Child's Hospital in Albany. Mrs. Poole was a LPN at Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush, N.Y. for 18 years, retiring in 1983. Prior to that, she worked at the County Tuberculosis Hospital in Great Lakes and Balboa Hospital in San Diego.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. Jr. and his wife, Martha Poole, of Lisbon; two grandchildren, David Poole and Heather Lopes and their spouses, also of Lisbon; sisters-in-law, Anita McCabe and Kay Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by all her siblings, Harold Wilson Jr., Francis Wood, Donald Wilson, James Wilson (Marie's twin), and Carl Wilson.
Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday with a funeral service to follow at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy, N.Y. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, N.Y.
