Norwich - Mary Pearl Romanowski, of Golden Street, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Groton Regency.|
Pearl was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Norwich, the daughter of the late Lucien and Susie (WolfensBurger) Bazinet. She was married to the late Joseph A. Romanowski Sr. who predeceased her.
She had worked at Hamilton Standard Propeller where she was awarded the Army-Navy Production Award Emblem in recognition of meritorious work. She had also worked as a clerk in the Metropolitan Chain Store in Norwich. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Choir.
She is survived by her son, Joseph A. Romanowski Jr. of Niantic; and by her grandchildren, Rev. Brian Romanowski of Norwich, Brandy Romanowski of Merrimack, N.H. and Catherine Bigalbal of Oakdale; and by her two great grandchildren, Raymundo and Sarah Bigalbal; and son-in-law, Alfred Beaudoin; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Beaudoin; brothers, Lucien and Joseph Bazinet; and sister, Susie Hewlitt.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary's Church, Boswell Avenue, Norwich. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
The Labenski Funeral Home, is assisting the family with arrangements.
