Nancy L. Brooks Obituary
Waterford - Nancy L. (Lowden) Brooks, 69, entered eternal rest on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Greentree Manor in Waterford, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Dunbar, Pa., to Hobert and Helen (Drexler) Lowden on Aug. 6, 1943. She graduated Dunbar Twp High School in 1961 and on March 2, 1962, married her beloved husband Preston "Stoney" Brooks in Virginia. He predeceased her but 4 months and 3 days prior to her own passing.

Nancy relocated with her family to Connecticut and worked most of her life as a grinder at Electric Boat in Groton. She also spent some time working for both Mohegan Sun and Millstone until her retirement.

Nancy shared her husband's love of horses and rode as often as she could. She had a huge heart and a love of animals, which often got her in trouble when a stray would appear. She loved her cat Allen and dog Mia. She also enjoyed craft fairs, a good cup of tea and hearing the laughter of her family.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Helen Lowden; brothers, Harry Lowden and wife, Kay, Dale Lowden and wife, Carla; sister, Linda Sweitzer and husband, Jack; daughters, Carol Davenport and husband, Edwin, Janice Johnson and husband, Albert, Darla Brooks and her fiancé, Harold Mooers; grandchildren, Tanya and Ken Lent, Edward and Sarah Watson, Christopher Watson, Brandon Davenport, Angelina Davenport, Meagan Brooks, Justin Johnson, Eva Brooks; great-grandchildren, Logan and Kaitlyn Lent, Jacob and Gabriella Watson; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband; her father; and one brother, Hobert R. Lowden.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360.
