Groton - Patricia Alice (Degnan) Ballard, 70, died peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by family on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012.|
She was born on Jan. 24, 1942, in New London, to the late George and Alice (Hansen) Degnan. Patricia attended Quaker Hill Elementary School and graduated from Waterford High School in 1960. In the early 1960s, she waitressed at various restaurants in the New London area. She went on to work at Electric Boat in Groton from 1978 to 1988, then the Kennedy Space Center from 1989 to 1995. Most recently, she worked in the deli at McQuade's Market where she made many friends.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl A. (Goss) Moreau and husband, Danny, Dorothy A. (Goss) Lesser and husband, Robert, Tammy L. (Goss) Sullivan and husband, Arthur, Tina M. Goss, Judith A. (Goss) Kyle and husband, Paul, Patricia L. (Collins) Bush and husband, Gregory; along with grandchildren, Michael Archambeault, Camryn M. Kyle, Maryn A. Kyle, and Lauryn R. Kyle; her sister, Nancy E. (Weber) Myllymaki and husband, Richard; nephew, Rick Myllymaki and fiancÃ©e, Jen Horner; brother, George "Leo" Degnan; and countless friends.
Besides her parents, Patricia was also predeceased by her husband, Hugh "Mike" Ballard.
All services are private and at the convenience of the family.
