Paul Zaehringer Obituary

Tucson, Ariz. - Paul George Zaehringer, formerly of East Lyme, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Tucson.

He was born Feb. 10, 1922, in Bridgeport, Pa. He served in the USAAC during World War II as a pilot flying B-25s. After the war, he became a flight instructor in Connecticut where he met his wife, Genevieve. They were married in June 1947.

Paul went into banking and ultimately became president of Cargill Bank of Connecticut. While in Connecticut, he was involved in local politics and for more than two decades was treasurer of the Town of East Lyme. He was active in many clubs and associations and received the Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award. He chaired the town building committee and was instrumental in the development of several of East Lyme's public buildings. He and his wife retired to Green Valley, Ariz.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years; sons, George Martin (Kelli) and Robert Paul (Eileen); four grandchildren, Ben, Abby, Mary, and Hannah; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are by Green Valley Mortuary.

So very sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of working for Paul when I was just out of high school. I loved his sense of humor. I am so grateful we kept in touch throughout the years. He was an inspiration to me and I learned so much from working for him. May God Bless you in your time of sorrow.

Mrs. Z, Martin & Bob,

So sorry to read about the loss of your loved one. God cares so deeply about us that he has gone to great lengths to make the fulfillment of his purpose a certainty. (John 3:16). One of his promises is no more death. Another of his promises is that those in his memory will be brought back to life. May these facts bring you some comfort.
