Peggy Cornish Obituary
Peggy was a proud member and Elder of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.
She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1956 from the Willimantic State Teachers College. Peggy worked as a school teacher for 40 years in the State of Connecticut until her retirement in 2009.
Peggy is survived by her two daughters, Rise and Angela and her sons, Donnel and Raymond, all of Connecticut. She also has 15 adored grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic. There are no visiting hours.
Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, is assisting the family with her services.

You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to love you -No one can ever know. Ms.Peggy, it was an absolute joy and blessing that I had the honor to know you over the past 12 years. From time to time I can still hear your laugh.GOD only knows how sad the entire family is now that you're gone BUT I KNOW they are all greatful for the times and memories they had with you. Myself along with Dedrick will continue to tell our son Dakari just how great his great-grammy was, along with all her great accomplishments.I will be thinking of you, Ms. Peggy,this 4th of July during the parade.
