Waterford - Robert A. Rascoe Sr., 81, of Waterford, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Bayview Healthcare Center in Waterford.

He was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on Aug. 15, 1931, the son of Alfred and Lola (Gregory) Rascoe.
He married Carole (Lewis) Roscoe in New London, on Aug. 11, 1951; she survives him.
Mr. Roscoe was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a life member of the Niantic VFW and a 47 year member of the First Baptist Church of Waterford. He was an avid bowler and bowled in the Wednesday Morning League in Groton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert A. Rascoe Jr. of Waterford; three daughters, Kristina Lipphardt and her husband, Wayne, of Waterford, Susan Begin of Griswold, Barbara Hall and her husband, William, of Waterford; nine grandchildren, John Mitchell and his wife, Lisa, Craig Mitchell and his wife, Jennifer, Eric Begin, Joshua Begin and his wife, Katie, Andrew Begin and his wife, Heather, Christopher Hall, Kimberly Larsen and her husband, Christopher, Jennifer Rascoe and Michael Rascoe; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a sister, Patsy Dickson, and grandchildren, Julie Marie Mitchell and Megan Elizabeth Mitchell.
Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church of Waterford, 105 Rope Ferry Road. Interment will be in Jordan Cemetery.
