Rose DeMatto Obituary
She was born in New Haven on Sept. 14, 1917, daughter of the late Mary (St. John) and Anthony Bozzuto.
She was predeceased by the "love of her life", her husband Rick, as well as her daughter, Judy Kitching.
Rose was a devoted wife and caring mother and grandmother. She received a great deal of joy working with children in the East Haven school system on a part time basis and loved being a floral designer for the J.A. Long Co. Florist for many years. Along with her love of flowers, she was fond of birds, in particular the cardinal.
Mrs. DeMatto is survived by her son, Enrico "Rick" A. DeMatto and wife, Luanne, of Mystic; grandsons, Jeffrey M. DeMatto and his wife, Melissa, of East Lyme, Michael J. Long and his wife, Christina, of Waterford; granddaughters, Christin DeMatto of Manchester, Regina Mongelluzzo and husband, Anthony, of Branford, Heather Kitching and Lora Woo of Alhambra, Calif.; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jillian Mongelluzzo, Mason DeMatto, and Austin Long.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Thomas L. Neilan and Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial is private.
