Montville - William A. Leone, 71, husband of Jane (Niestzyzewski) Leone of Leffingwell Road, Uncasville, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at home.
Born in Norwich, on Nov. 29, 1940, he is the son of the late Charles and Gladys (Vanase) Leone.
On May 29, 1965, in St. Joseph Church in Norwich, he was united in marriage to Jane (Niestzyzewski) Leone. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years. In his retirement years, he enjoyed working at Town Fair Tire for the past 12 years as a driver. He was a member of the Golden Rods Street Rod Association Inc. of Norwich. But, above all he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, two sons, Michael A. Leone and his wife, Deborah, of Canterbury and Charles A. Leone and his wife, Sharlene, of Scotland; a daughter, Laurie A. Houle and her husband, Gregory, of Lisbon; a brother, Charles P. Leone of Punta Gorda, Fla.; five grandchildren, Sarah and Jared Houle, Kellee and Ryan Leone, and Makayla Leone; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, meeting directly at St. John Church, 22 Maple Ave., Uncasville. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
