Old Lyme - William W. Ball, of Old Lyme and Jensen Beach, Fla., died on Jan. 19, 2008 at his home in Florida.
He was born on Sept. 28, 1944, the son of the late Masten and Frances Alsip Ball.
He retired after 23 years from Anthem Blue Cross where he was a senior systems provider analyst. Prior to that, he was employed at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London for seven years.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalind "Rose" Ball; his brother, Barry Ball and his wife, Nancy, of East Lyme; his niece, Jennifer Landon and her husband, Chris, of Charlotte and his nephew, Darren Ball, and his wife, Deanna, of Waterford.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his daughter Renee Ball.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Duck River Cemetery, Old Lyme. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, McCurdy Road, Old Lyme.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics.
