East Lyme - Helen L. Bill, 87, of Black Point Beach, passed away at home Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, with her husband and family by her side.

Helen was born on Nov. 4, 1924, in Franklin, the daughter of Frank and Amelia Loika. Helen shared 64 loving years of marriage to Edward Bill, married on April 21, 1948.
Helen's life was her family. She received an associate's degree and worked briefly as an administrative assistant, deciding to pursue her greatest career as a stay at home mother, during which time she gave unselfishly to her family and community. She was a Girl Scout leader and Catholic religion instructor for many years. She was also caregiver to relatives in need. Later, Helen became a certified aide and worked several years for the New London VNA. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed many years spending time with her three grandson's.
Helen is survived by her devoted husband, Edward; son, Gary Bill and Katherine Coleman of Sherman, and Chesterfield, N.H.; her daughter, Gail Dion and husband, Peter Dion, of Niantic and their three children, Brandon, Bryan and Steven.
The Bill family will be celebrating Helen's life privately.
