Montville - Barry L. Chandler, 61, of Oakdale, died on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Cancer Treatment Center in Philadelphia, Pa., after a short illness.

He was born on April 4, 1951, to Earl and Eleanor (Williams) Chandler in Rockland, Maine. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S.Army.
On July 26, 1975, he married his beloved wife, Madolyn (Pavlas), in Groton.
He worked as an auto body repair technician.
Barry truly enjoyed yard sales and auctions, NASCAR, fixing computers, cars, and just about anything, considering himself a "tinkerer". He was most well known for being a quiet man, a good father, and just enjoyed life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Madolyn; daughters, Carrie Wallace, Jamie Mize and her husband, Mitch; brothers, Raymond Chandler and Kendell Chandler; a grandson, Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, meeting directly at Maplewood Cemetery, 184 Salem Tnpk., Norwich.
