Obituary Condolences

Lyme - John T. Angier died after a long illness on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at his home in Lyme.

He was born in Sevenoaks, England on Oct. 19, 1925. During the Second World War, at the age of 17, John enlisted in the British Army and earned his commission at Dehradun, India. After the war, he remained in Burma, where he was responsible for a camp of 25,000 Japanese surrendered personnel. In 1952, he moved to Cincinnati before finally settling in Connecticut. He loved the river valley and enjoyed bird-watching, hunting, fishing, boating and photography.

John is survived by Emma, his wife; their five children, Jack, Harry, Mark, Elizabeth, and Margaret; and 11 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in Christ the King Church, Old Lyme. Interment will be held at a later date in England.
