Muriel-Anne Agnes Cheney Obituary
East Lyme - Muriel-Anne Agnes (Hevey) Cheney, 95, of Niantic, beloved wife of the late George A. Cheney, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at St. Joseph's Residence.

She was born May 21, 1918 in Springfield, Mass., daughter of the late Jerome J. and Agnes M. (Gosselin) Hevey. Muriel attended local schools and graduated from Commerce High School. Mrs. Cheney was the head cashier at Johnson's Book Store in Springfield, retiring in 1974.

Mrs. Cheney is survived by her children, David Cheney and Sherry Arsenault, of Suffield, Judith and John Davis of Feeding Hills, Mass., Cynthia and Albert Cocola of Niantic, and Kenneth and Gloria Cheney of Phelan, Calif. She also leaves seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Muriel was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Bonk (October 2013); four sisters; and three brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, at the Wyben Union Church, 678 Montgomery Road, Westfield, Mass.

Memorial donations in Muriel's name may be made to the Wyben Union Church, 678 Montgomery Road, Westfield, MA 01085, the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or St. Joseph's Residence, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082.
