Old Lyme - Hank DeMazza, 81, of Old Lyme, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Hank was born in New Haven, the son of the late Henry and Ralphlena (Noder) DeMazza, on Oct. 3, 1932.
Hank was part of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School in West Haven, graduating in 1950. Having served in the U.S. Army, Hank was a veteran of the Korean War. He was co-owner of D & D Electronics and Music in West Haven and a longtime employee of The Edward Malley Company in New Haven. After retirement, Hank enjoyed gardening and being with his family. He was a youth football coach in Clinton for over 15 years, coaching both the Packers and Condors proudly.
Besides his parents, Hank is predeceased by his sister, Mary Mongillo; and his son, Steven DeMazza.
Hank leaves behind his loving wife of over 27 years, Sandy (Hunt) DeMazza; his children, Michael and his wife, Ashley DeMazza, of Falls Village; Mark and his wife, JiaWen DeMazza, of Clinton; Matthew and his wife, Lisa DeMazza, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Stephanie Hatch of Chester; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Mitchell, Max, Katherine, Emily, Brian and Kristen; and by his great-grandchildren, Amity and Hudson. He also leaves behind his lifelong friends, Jim and MaryAnn Caporossi of North Haven.
Family and friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A mass of christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at St. Mary Church of the Visitation. Burial will follow at Beaverbrook Cemetery with full military honors.
Memorial donations may be made in loving memory of Hank to either the Old Lyme Ambulance Association or to the Old Lyme Children's Learning Center, Inc.
