New London - Marilynne "Fuzzy" Morse, 83, of Westridge Road, New London, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at her residence after a long illness.|
She was born in New London, the daughter of Lawrence and Veronica (Wyatt) MacDonald.
Fuzzy loved to travel and cook. She took her two children, Bill and Mickey, to Moscow, where they performed in a circus. Many former 8th grade students from St. Joseph's School will remember going with her on a school trip to New York City to see "Hello Dolly" followed by a visit to Sardi's. Her favorite entrÃ©e was lobster thermidor and her favorite dessert was coffee toffee pie.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne, who she had met on an open house on board the USCG Barque Eagle at New London City Pier in 1948; a son, Bill S. Morse of New London; a daughter; Mickey Bird of Bishop's Stortford, England; and two brothers, John and Bob MacDonald, both of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, New London. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, is assisting with the arrangements.
