Ledyard - Raymond Lewis Watrous, 83, of 429 Colonel Ledyard Highway, Ledyard, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Pendleton Healthcare in Mystic.

A lifelong resident of Ledyard, he was one of seven children of the late Nathan and Bessie Watrous. For many years his family operated a family farm in Ledyard. He was known for his problem solving mechanical prowess and was a well-known accomplished stone wall builder.

His family and friends remember him as being a humble, quiet, God-fearing man, who was much loved and respected for his character and peaceful disposition.

His family will greet relatives and friends from 10 to 11:45 a.m. on Friday at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic, with a service immediately following at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Quakertown Cemetery, Ledyard.
