Helen Cecilia "Mary" Longton Obituary
Groton - Helen Cecilia "Mary" (Allen) Longton, 90, formerly of Groton, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Pat Willard, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Born Feb. 8, 1924, to Thomas I. and Helen R. (Giguere) Allen in East Pepperell, Mass., she was the second of five siblings.

She served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II and married Cyril A. Longton from Glenwood City, Wis., Sept. 20, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this September.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Cy (91); daughters, Pat Willard, Nancy Willard, and Linda Barnett, all of Fort Worth, and Joann Longton of New London; and sons, Pete Longton of Fort Worth, Chuck Longton of Oakdale, Joe Longton of Urbanna, Va., and Bill Longton of Norwich. She also leaves 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bob Allen of Pepperell.

In addition to her three siblings, she was predeceased by her son, Michael Paul Longton; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Fullness in Christ Church, 8895 Random Road, Fort Worth, TX. Flowers may be sent to Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76135.

Donations may be made in her memory to Heart to Heart Hospice of Fort Worth, 5608 Malvey Ave., Suite 200, Fort Worth, TX 76107. We truly thank them for all their tender care of our Mom.

We also are so grateful for the love and care from so many family members and friends. Mom was a dedicated wife and mother. Her family is her lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
