East Lyme - Salvatore T. DiMauro, 82, of Niantic, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Pendleton Healthcare in Mystic.

Mr. DiMauro was born on April 30, 1932, in New Britain, the son of the late Philip and Frances (Salerno) DiMauro. Sal was married on July 15, 1961 in New Britain to the former Shirley A. Pflugbeil.
He had worked for over 31 years at Electric Boat in Groton, retiring as a quality assurance procurement manager.
Mr. DiMauro was a very active member of the St. Agnes Church in Niantic, having served as a trustee for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Perpetual Church Council No. 5633.
Besides his wife, Sal is survived by two sons, Christopher J. DiMauro and his wife, Kristin, of Mohegan Lake, N.Y. and Daniel P. DiMauro of Norwich; a sister, Lucy Colaresi of Meriden; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda DiMauro.
Sal had also been predeceased by two sisters, Mary Sikora and Lena Maccri; and two brothers, Frank and Angelo DiMauro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Ave., Niantic. His burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the St. Mary Cemetery, 1309 Stanley St., New Britain. Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at the Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London.
