Montville - Robert Allan Davis, 66, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at The William W. Backus Hospital.
He was born on November 26, 1941, in Providence, R.I., to the late Arlene (Mullen) and Paul Davis, Sr. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Germany. He married Helen Taplin on May 5, 1973, in Old Lyme, she survives him. Bob worked for the Local Labors Union #547 for 15 years, Robertson Paper Box for 16 Years and was currently employed as a slot Technician at the Mohegan Sun Casino. He was a diehard NASCAR fan and a member and past commander of the American Legion Post #112, Montville as well as a member of the VFW, Montville Polish- American Club, Montville Fire Co., #1, Conn. Tractor Pulling Association and the New London County Ostomy Association.
Bob is survived by his wife, Helen Davis of Montville; his daughter, Jeri Lynn of Lebanon; his sister Beverly Williams of Woodstock; step-sisters, Paulette Marker of Delaware, Susan Adams, Rita Newmeyer; and brother, Michael Davis all of California; two grandchildren, Amber and Stephen Ferrante; a great-grandson Tyler Adison; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents; he is predeceased by his brother, Paul Davis, Jr.; and grandson, Randy Ferranti, Jr.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday July 25, 2008, at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m., on Saturday July 26, with visitation at 930 a.m., burial will immediately follow at Comstock Cemetery.
