Ledyard - Rosario A. Ganino, 94, of Gales Ferry, beloved husband of the late Mary (Viviano) Ganino passed away peacefully, Friday, March 19, 2010, at Pendleton Nursing Center.

Born in Stamford, Conn., he was the son of the late Rosario and Carmella (Tolla) Ganino and lived in Gales Ferry for the past 17 years. Prior to living in Gales Ferry, he lived in Stamford for most of his life.
Rosario was a milkman with Sealtest-Sheffield Farms for many years. Following his years with Sealtest, he owned and operated the former Westfair Hardware Store in Westport until his retirement.
He enjoyed golf and playing tennis, and loved tending to his vegetable gardens. When his wife was alive, they both enjoyed traveling, especially their trip to Italy.
He leaves his four children, Robert Ganino and his wife, Eliza, of Madison, Patricia Macchia and her husband, Richard, of Gales Ferry, Linda Sartori and her husband, Michael, of Dennis, Mass. and Karen Pendolphi and her husband, Robert, of Gales Ferry; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beatrice Pace of Darien.
He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Fabrizio and two brothers, Albert and Rocco Ganino.
Funeral services and burial are private. There are no calling hours.
