Waterford - Yvonne Thelemaque Kydd, 81, of 75 Old Norwich Rd., died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at home, surrounded by her husband and loving family.

She was born in New York, N.Y. Nov. 28, 1928, the daughter of Constant and Vivienne Thelemaque. She was a graduate of City College in New York and had been employed for 29 years at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1993.
Yvonne married Harold B. Kydd on Sept. 5, 1953, in New York, N.Y. They have resided in Quaker Hill since 1961. Mrs. Kydd was an avid reader and loved poetry. She completed the New York Times crossword puzzle daily. She loved "family life".
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David B. Kydd and his wife, Barbara, of Niantic; three daughters, Lisa Kydd Blue and her husband, David, of Framingham, Mass., Lauren Kydd-Bell and her husband, Eugene, of Mystic and Leslie Kydd Timmons and her husband, Birse, of East Lyme; her brother, Jean Thelemaque of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; and seven loving grandchildren, Diana and David Blue Jr., Meghan and Sean Kydd, Rachel and Janelle Timmons, and Justin Bell; and many extended family members.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Episcopal Church, Huntington St., New London, with interment following in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
