Longmeadow, Mass. - Donald F. Adeletti, 78, of Longmeadow, Mass., and resident of Pleasure Beach in Waterford since 1947, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010.

He was born in Springfield, Mass. to the late Frank J. and Marie A. (Zanetti) Adeletti, was a graduate of the former Springfield Tech High School, attended Nichols College, and received his bachelors degree from the University of Massachusetts. Don was a CPA and partner with Meyers Brothers PC in Longmeadow for over 30 years. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, salt and fresh water fishing, and was an avid upland game hunter. Don also enjoyed playing the piano, jazz music, and was a gifted artist working with oil paints and wood carving.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Janet A. (Gosselin) Adeletti of Longmeadow; his loving children, Stephen J. Adeletti and his wife, Martha, of Lyme, Christopher P. Adeletti and his wife, Sherry, of Granby, Mass., Matthew F. Adeletti of Longmont, Colo., and Susan M. Kemp and her husband, Jimmy, of Washington, D.C.; his cherished grandsons, Jonah, Marco, Evan, Benji, Nicholas, and Tommy; and special caregiver, Colleen Grabowski of East Longmeadow.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Paul Adeletti, in 1981.

Whether you knew him as Donald, Don, "The Don", or "DA" he will be greatly missed by all of you.

A funeral ceremony will be held for Don at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, in the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St. East Longmeadow, MA 01028, followed by committal service in St. Michael's Cemetery, State St., Springfield. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Don's life from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
