Isabelle Calmar Obituary

Stonington - Isabelle Moschos Calmar, 16, of Stonington, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, from brain cancer. Blessed with ethereal beauty and grace, Isabelle inspired everyone who knew her.

Isabelle attended Stonington High School and achieved the highest academic honors. She was an accomplished athlete and loved playing lacrosse. She spent her summers swimming, sailing, playing tennis, and boating with her family. Her dream was to attend the Brown-RISD program after graduating from high school.

The eldest of three children, she is survived by her loving mother and father, Martha (McCormick) Calmar and the Honorable Harry E. Calmar; her siblings, Harry and Margot; paternal grandmother, Thalia Moschos Calmar; great aunt and uncle, Celeste and Demetri Moschos; and her aunts and uncles, Anne and Jim Heller, David and Mary McCormick, Norah McCormick, Sarah and Michael Regan, Shelia and Jack Hocking, Bridget and Kevin Giovanucci, Leigh and Nick Psaltos, Elizabeth Calmar and George Kasparyan, and Charles Calmar. Isabelle was adored by her 20 cousins.

She is predeceased by her grandfather, Emanuel Harry Calmar, and grandmother and grandfather, Jane (Hickey) McCormick and Jack McCormick.

The funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church, 200 Hempstead St., New London. Burial will be held at the Stonington Cemetery, 345 North Main St., Stonington.

I am so sorry to hear such sad news.Isabelle and I both were having treatment at the same time.I hated my wig,so one day I just stopped wearing it.
