Mystic - Kathryn M. "Katie" Shuck, 56, of Mystic, beloved wife of Warren Shuck, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at the CT Hospice in Branford.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Elizabeth (McArthur) Roberts of Groton and the late Sidney Roberts and lived in Mystic for the past six years, previously residing in Madison.

She was a registered nurse at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for many years. Katie had a personality and a life that everyone will remember. She was a caring nurse, a wonderful wife, and an amazing mother. She enjoyed her life to the fullest. Whether she was skiing down the Vermont mountains, sailing in the waters of New England, or traveling all over the U.S. and the Caribbean, she always made friends and memories. She and her husband, Warren, joined the Stonington Harbor Yacht Club in 2005 where she was on the Board of Directors of Sound Music which brought music back to Harkness. She devoted her life to her family and bringing joy to others. May all pray for her to have a peaceful passing to Heaven, and remember her as the remarkable, outgoing, fun-loving woman she was and always will be in our hearts.

Besides her husband and mother, she leaves her stepson, Cameron Shuck and his wife, Christine, of Ashaway, R.I.; daughter, Kendra Shuck of Mystic; brother, Richard Roberts and his wife, Denise, of Haddam; her sister, Nancy Burdick and her husband, Ronald, of Ivoryton; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Edith Shuck of Nokomis, Fla.; brother-in-law, David Shuck and his wife, Pattie, of Old Saybrook; and sister-in-law, Lauren Shuck of Wash.

Her family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Burial will be private.
