Rose Marsh Obituary

Stonington - Rose Mary (Moss) Marsh, 66, of Pawcatuck died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer.

Rose was born on April 11, 1946, in Washington, D.C., to John and Dorothy (McCrea) Moss. She grew up in Southeast Washington (Anacostia). She married Charles Marsh Sr. in 1963. After her children had grown, she got her nursing license. She was a loving and caring mother and nurse. She worked at the now-closed Waterford Haven Health Center for over 20 years. She loved spending her time with her grandchildren, gardening and vacationing in Ocean City, Md. She was known for her taco sauce, which was always eagerly anticipated.

Rose is survived by her constant companion, Lee Krause, of 25-plus years; two children, Charles Marsh Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Plainfield, and daughter Noelle Guzman and her number one son-in-law, Dan, of New London; four grandchildren, Samantha Marsh, Carlos, Chloe and Lydia Guzman; her mother, Dorothy Moss; her brothers, Jack Moss of Dover, N.H., and Charles Moss of Millersville, Md.; and her dog, Cozmo.

Please join us in celebrating her memory from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in a service at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly, R.I.

May God bless and comfort you all in your time of grief. I worked with Rose for years at Haven Healthcare and so many wonderful memories flood my heart of her. I loved her sense of humor, the love for her family, her caring of others, her devotion and the positivity she brought. She was so proud of her beautiful grandchildren, she talked of their accomplishments, her face lit up and she smiled so brightly. Love sums up who Rose is.
