Old Lyme - Arlene Mae Dean, of Old Lyme, died on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 7, 1937, in Presque Isle, Maine, the daughter of Earland Loren Johnston and Vera Iola (Stilwell) Johnston.
Mrs. Dean is survived by her husband, Marshall Dean Sr.; her children, Debra Foley and Richard of Florida, Donna Mears and Kevin Crowley of Old Lyme, Richard Mears and Linda Schneider of Groton, Lee Mears of West Haven, Marshall Dean Jr. and Gail Fox of Old Lyme, Marcia Dean of Oakdale, Patricia Dean and Ann Cocks of Old Lyme, Nancy Sampier and Tony of East Lyme, Kathy Santiago and Robert of Old Lyme, and Carol Martinoli and Ed of Bethlehem; her siblings, Earl Johnston and Olive of Florida, Ralph Johnston and Lorraine of Thomaston, and Dana Johnston and Joyce Whitmore of Fletcher's Landing, Maine; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her twin sister, Carleen Johnston; and her brother Arnold Johnston.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in the First Congregational Church, Lyme St., Old Lyme. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 7, at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme.
