Kenneth Roderick Obituary
Born May 22, 1938, the son of Frank G. "Samuel" and Helen (Card) Roderick. Kenneth was raised in Stonington Village. After completing school, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. After the war, Kenneth returned to Stonington and began his fishing career with his father, uncles, brothers and cousins. He became owner and captain of the fishing dragger "Mary and Gloria". He later worked at Electric Boat before retiring to Boynton Beach.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Donna. He leaves two daughters, Brenda Wharton, and Rhonda Roderick; four step-children, Mike, Craig, Danny, and Tammy Sheeler; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Ronald Roderick; two sisters, Helen Hindle and Toni Remor; and his aunt, Anne Suminski.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Frank, and Craig Roderick; and many other friends and family dear to him.
He will be sadly missed.

My sympathy goes out to you all for your loss. I have nothing but fond memories of Kenny as he always made me laugh and would light up a room. I remember a guy asking Kenny how to make portuguese sweet bread at the P-Club. Kenny told the person as he wrote down the recipe.... Go to Comacho's and buy a pound of dough, mix it in a bowl with 5 lbs of sugar, make it into a loaf and bake it for 45 mins @ 350 degrees...at taste it will be the sweetest damn break you ever had. KENNY WILL BE MISSED and may he rest in peace!!!

Aunt Donna- We were so happy that we were able to visit you and Uncle Kenny while we were there in April. I am glad that I was able to see him. He never lost his sense of humor. He was one of the funniest! Say hello to everyone who has passed in the last year Uncle Kenny...we love and will miss you all!!!

Aunt Donna.! Uncle Kenny was one of the funniest guy I knew. He always had some kind of Joke. Now he is in heaven joking around with my dad and the rest of the family. God has his hands full now. He will be sadly missed. Love ya.

I remember many thanksgivings we would come to the house in sand and sea after having dinner at home where everyone would be playing cards. Still not sure how we had that many Rodericks in one spot on the patio with no fights but it is one of many memories. You join the rest of the family now looking down upon us as it has been a rough year for the Roderick family. Rest in Peace Uncle Ken... you are gone but will never be forgotten.
