Las Vegas, Nev. - Leon Pierfederici, also known by his stage name "Babe Pier", passed away July 31, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was born in New London, son of Attilio Pierfederici and Ilalia Mary (Ballestrini) Pierfederici. He was a graduate of the former Bulkeley School and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He later moved to Las Vegas where he performed there and all over the country with major artists as an impressionist and musician. The mayor of Las Vegas proclaimed August 10 to be "Babe Pier Day".
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughter, Tally; and brother, Roland Pier of New London.
He was predeceased by a brother, Otello Pierfederici.
Services and burial were held on Aug. 10, 2012, at Palm Mortuary Downtown, Las Vegas.
