Mavis Mercier Obituary
She was born on Dec. 13, 1937, in Rangeley, Maine, the daughter of Lindsley Nile and Rosealine (Arsenault) Nile.
Mrs. Mercier retired in 1994 as a supervisor from the Bureau of Business Practice. Mavis was an avid bowler for many years. She loved feeding and watching the numerous birds in her back yard, as well as making friends with the squirrels as well. She also loved tending to her rose bushes.
She is survived by her husband, George E. Mercier; her son, Richard Davidson and his wife, Judye, of Montville; her step-daughter, Sharon Alger and her husband, Mike, of New London; her grandchildren, Michael Alger Jr. and his wife, Mercedes, Christopher Alger and his wife, Jennifer, and Kimberly Marie States and her husband, Bill; two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Noah; as well as many relatives in the Rangely and Millinocket Maine areas.
A memorial service will be held at a later date which will be announced. There are no calling hours.

It is with the deepest sympathy we post this message. Mavis touched our hearts and became a friend to us back in Christmas 2001 when we visited Disneyland Florida, George and Mavis befriended us and in particular our daughter Stephanie. We went back again in 2003 and arranged to meet them both, we had a great time thanks to them. We have very fond memories of those occasions and always kept in contact with each other. Every Christmas we would keep an eye out for the Postman who delivered a parcel from the USA and that parcel always took pride of place under the festive tree. Mavis will be sadly missed and a whole has been left in our hearts. God bless you Mavis and our deepest sympathy got to family and friends and in particular George.
