Obituary Condolences

Manchester - Ruth Ann (Fletcher) Bellinger, 63, of 35 Bramblebush Road, Manchester, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 4, 2013, at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

She was born on July 26, 1949, in Willow Springs (Wake County), North Carolina, the daughter of Ruby Mae (Lyons) and the late William Fletcher. She was a loving wife to Melvin Bellinger Sr. A painter for General Dynamics - Electric Boat Division of Groton, Ruth retired with more than 30 years of loyal service, after she became ill.

She was the loving mother to one daughter, Michelle Bellinger McLaughlin (Charles); and one son, Melvin Bellinger Jr. (Rebecca). She was a loving grandmother to three grandchildren, Melvin Bellinger III, Lauren Bellinger, and Kaia McLaughlin; two step-grandchildren, Peter and Gianna Kornegay. She was the loving sister to four brothers, James W. Fletcher (Shirley) of Waterford, the late Billie Ray Fletcher of North Carolina, John L. Fletcher (Kate) of Havlock, N.C., Joseph Fletcher (Christine) of Hamden, and Larry Fletcher (Donna) of Ledyard; and five sisters, Mary A. (Fletcher) Barboza (Antonio) of Norwich, Joyce A. (Fletcher) Evans (Gary) of New London, Brenda L. (Fletcher) Barnes (Charlton) of Norwich, Sandra (Fletcher) Owens (Albert - deceased) of Norwich, and Veronica Y. (Fletcher) Cook (Royal) of Norwich. She was the proud aunt to more than 70 nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew, and great-great-niece and nephew; and she is survived by a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Tabernacle of Deliverance and Praise (TODAP) Ministries, located at 230 Hunters Road, Norwich. Interment will immediately follow in the Maplewood Cemetery, 184 Salem Turnpike, Norwich.
