Waterford - Marie Jean (Terminesi) Miceli, 78, of Waterford entered eternal life on Friday, April 5, 2013, in the company of her loving family.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born on July 9, 1934, in New London, the daughter of the late Duillo and Matilda Terminesi. Marie was employed at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, retiring after 21 years of service. She was a charter member of the St. Jude Women's Club. Marie was a spiritual woman with a strong faith in God, and through Him was devoted to St. Jude. She was fiercely loyal to friends and family alike, extending a helping hand to all in need, as this was one of her greatest attributes. She enjoyed spending time with friends of which there were many and left lasting impressions with everyone she encountered. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with John. The Cape was one of their favorite places to visit. She left a legacy of love, hope, faith, and integrity to those she was closest to, her family. She will be forever missed and our memories of her life and the love she exuded and shared with us will be celebrated for the rest of our lives.
She is survived by her two daugters, Joette Rowley of Tamarac, Fla., and Alane Cook and her husband, Bobby; a son, David Miceli and his wife, Elaine, both of Waterford. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tara Gonzalez of Niantic, Bobby Chet Cook of Nashville, Tenn., and Michael Rowley and Gregory Rowley of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two great-granddaughters, Alexa Rowley and Madelyn Gonzalez; a sister, Helen Terminesi Bliven of Quaker Hill; a brother, Sam Terminesi of Massachusetts; her longtime companion, John Mutch of Salem; and her best friend, Josephine Zito of Waterford.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Glaessner and Jean Terminesi and "another sister", Connie Burgess; and her former husband, Joseph "Buster" Miceli.
Her family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. The funeral will assemble at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
