Nicholas Kruczek Obituary
He is the maternal grandson of Claire Artibee of Guilford and the late Bill Dettman, and paternal grandson of Ray and Marlene Kruczek of Guilford. He is also survived by his loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many friends.
Nick graduated from Daniel Hand High School in 2011, where he was a four year letterman on the Tiger ice hockey team and was named SCC Hockey Tournament MVP his senior year. He was an avid athlete all his life, skated from the age of four, and excelled in numerous other sports such as soccer, baseball, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, golf, and tennis. More recently, Nick was attended Southern Connecticut State University, where he was a member of the Owls ice hockey team. Nick's infectious smile and zest for life kindled friendships with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in the First Congregational Church, 122 Broad St., Guilford. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nick Kruczek Fund, c/o Guilford Savings Bank, 1 Park St., Guilford, CT 06437, Attention: Jessica Boardman, or to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.

We all enjoyed the memories of you at such a young age with your dad, Mark, and the rest of the Bell family. We so wished to have had you back in our lives as you moved into adulthood. There are no words that can describe the loss of a child. Our prayers and deepest thoughts are with you and your family during your time of saddness. Nick, being the first great grandchild of John and Lillian Radanovich and Bill and Laura Bell of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania brought such joy and pride to our family. He was so excited about the path he was choosing for his life when we last saw him. We can hardly believe he is no longer with us. Kyle, Sue and family ... There are no words that can be said at this time to express the sorrow that we are feeling for you at this time. Always know that Nick will never be forgotten in our hearts and prayers. He was a friend to our son along with a teammate. (They played on the Lazers together.) He was a good person and we will always remember the fun we all had together on the tournments (and all the trouble the kids got into) on and off the ice. Kids just being kids.
