Waterford - Carolyn A. Benvenuti, 82, of Waterford, entered eternal life on Oct. 19, 2013, in the company of her loving family.

She was born Dec. 23, 1930, in New Britain, the daughter of the late Peter and Viola Balestracci. Her younget years were spent in Mystic, where she graduated from Stonington High School. She later graduated from Hartford Art School. She worked as a commerical artist until she meet Donald Benvenuti, who she married in 1953. On Oct. 17, 2013, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

In her spare time, she painted pictures in oil. Several are on display at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London. Her favorite times were spent watching her grandchildren as they grew up, playing sports and graduating from college. She attended many UConn women's basketball games, enjoyed playing cards, and going out to lunch with her friends. She belonged to St. Gerardi Mothers Circle where she enjoyed playing bingo with the elderly and donating to the soup kitchen.

For exercise, Carolyn played tennis and racquetball, winning many trophies; she loved a challenge.
