John H. McCallum, 88, of Palm Springs, Calif. passed July 12, 2013 in Palm Springs. He was born August 26, 1924 to John McCallum and Mabel Pare in Homestead, Penn. He married Nadine September 1, 1973 in Pasadena, Calif. He was a building contractor, insurance broker, owner of the Crossbow Steakhouse in South Pasadena, owner of Las Palmas Maintenance and inventor of Plumbez Tools. He graduated from Michigan State University
in September 1948. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1943-1945 as a flight instructor. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Nadine of Palm Springs; daughters Joyce Novell of Palm Springs; Linda Hopper of Claremont; Elizabeth Anderson of Orange; Amy Dutrisac of Santa Ana; sons, David McCallum of Dallas, Texas; Jim McCallum of Colorado; Tony McCallum of Palm Springs; stepchildren James Taylor of Hawthorne; Steve Egenes and Christy Cortigiani of Palm Springs. He is also survived by sisters Gertrude; Jeanne; and Tanny; fourteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be August 17, 2013 at 11AM at Living Water Church, 5000 Calle San Raphael #C-5 , Palm Springs.
