Robert Voigt Obituary

Robert Avery Voigt, 92 of Palm Springs, California passed away December 6, 2010 in Palm Springs, California. He was born January 23, 1918 to Herman and Maude Voigt in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married Diana Gizir on June 8, 1972 in Reno, Nevada. He was a Journalist for seventeen years and a Public Relations Director for Food Employers Council for nineteen years. He was a member of Greater Los Angeles Press Club (former president), California State Athletic Commission (former Chairman), Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Council. He served in the California National Guard from February 4, 1935 to February 3, 1938 as a 160th Infantry Co; the US Navy on the USS Panamint from March 12, 1945 to April 1, 1946 as a specialist third class correspondent. He is survived by his spouse Diana Voigt of Palm Springs, California; daughter, Rosemary Endress of Melbourne, Florida; son, Robert J. Voigt of Carpenteria, California; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries. I will always cherish all the good times spent with my Grandfather Bob Voigt. He was truly inspirational in his wisdom. He was always a loving , fun and supportive classy gentleman. The things he accomplished in life are truly amazing and he will be truly missed by myself and all his friends he aquired over the years. All good memories of Grandpa, he always seemed happy and was fun to be around, with a great sense of humor, cracking jokes right till the end. I am proud of the full life he lived and the impressive example he set, he has been an inspiration to me. He was a great man and Grandfather. We miss you Grandpa, With Love, Frank Leigh, Grandson.
