Jeff Basquez Obituary
Jeff Floyd Basquez, 58, of Coachella, Calif., passed away January 4, 2012 in Coachella. He was born May 13, 1953 to Phillip and Jessie Basquez in Denison, Texas. He married Vera Zamorez on August 14, 1970 in Indio, Calif. He owned his own landscaping business in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He volunteered at CVUSD, where he mentored the youth. Jeff was known to the youth as "GRANDPA" or "OG". Jeff served the Lord in many ministries for several years. Jeff is survived by his wife of 41 years, Vera Basquez of Coachella, Calif.; his daughter, Frances Olalde of Indio; his son, Jeff Basquez of La Quinta; and his daughter, Judy Basquez of Indio. Jeff also had eight brothers and two sisters. Jeff had ten beloved grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation before services at the hour of 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. A memorial "celebration of life" service will be held on January 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Destiny Church at 82-625 Showcase Pkwy, Suite 100, Indio, CA. To the Basquez Family,
Our sincere condolences on the loss of Jeff. His indelible presence in the neighborhood will be missed. He was such a friendly man, always looking out for the neighbors as we looked out for him. During his walks around the block, he always had time to chat with whomever he met along the way-- I know every time I saw him during his walks, he always asked about my mother, and that meant a lot to us. A few days before our own mother passed, Jeff, Judy and Frances came by the house to see her-- another gesture we wlll not forget. A good man, a good father and husband, and the neighbor we should all be lucky enough to have. Rest in peace, Jeff and may God bless your family in this difficult time.

lighting the candle to me signifies the light that burned in my Tio Jeff. His fire was and continues to be the lord & although his earthly flesh is gone.
