Alphonse Blanchette Obituary

Alphonse Blanchette, born May 8, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wis., passed away quietly at home in the loving arms of his family on October 22, 2010. Although a native Wisconsin resident, Alphonse has lived in the desert for seven years. Alphonse is a dedicated World War II veteran; the discipline he learned in the Navy never left him, as family will attest. Alphonse was a skilled machinist with a strong attention to detail and spent his time in retired years building beautifully crafted models of a variety of vehicles of which he was very proud. Alphonse was respected by everyone he encountered and loved dearly by his family. Alphonse is survived by his nine children, Faye, Jolene, Victor, Althea, Mark, Guy, Lance, Brian, and Josh. He adored his 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law, Windy. Services will be held today at 10:00 AM in the St. Theresa Parish Chapel.

My Dad has always been an inspiration to my life. He kept me on level ground and showed me how to be the man I am today. I'll miss you Dad. I'm glad I spent the last few moments with you before you passed away from this life to be with the Lord.

I'll always remember Grandpa as I saw him when I was a kid: Suspenders holding up his jeans, sticking the tip of his tongue out as he concentrated on his woodwork (or whatever it was he happened to be working on at the moment). I am a better person because I knew him, and I only regret that my daughter didn't get to spend more time with him. I'll miss you, Grandpa!

Mark & GUy,
Having lost my father just a few years ago I know how difficult a time this must be for you. May he live on in the many happy memories you have of your dad.
