May 26, 1935 - Sept. 10, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Carol announce her passing, her promotion to glory, early in the morning on Friday, September 10, 2010, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 75 years. Carol touched many lives with her loving kindness, beautiful spirit and incredible courage; not to mention her awesome cookies. It was only one month ago that twenty-four of her family members travelled with her to Maui to celebrate the fiftieth wedding anniversary to the love of her life, Vern. Amongst rolling waves, fun times at the pool and laughs galore, we treasured the gift of time we had with her. As a cancer survivor for twelve years she fought the battle bravely and courageously right to the end. Carol experienced and enjoyed many great times with friends and loved ones in her homes in Calgary, Windermere, BC, and Palm Valley Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif. Carol is survived by her loving husband, Vern; sons, Greg (Elaine) and Clark (Kathy); daughters, Marleea (Bob Ashauer) and Marilyn (Cameron Blewett); and grand-children whom she adored, Brittany, Jenessa and Madison; Sean, Jack, Cole and Lauren; Rachel, Chantel, Nicole and Alyssa; Jaeden, Ashton, Arianna, and Luke. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Kelm; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Hilda Nargang; and her brother, Clinton Nargang. Funeral Services were held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB., T2S 2L5) on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Mrs. Olson will always be remembered for her kindness, great cooking, and warm smiles. Our hearts go out to you all, especially to Mr Olson who treated her like his princess.

Mike spiraled into heaven today as he dedicated his F-86 Sabre airshow to her in Halifax this afternoon.

Carol was a large part of our family's lives for many years.She was one of my Mom's very best friends. (Bev Sprung) Those two beautiful women were an inspiration to us all! Their love of their children, their gift of laughter, and their joie de vie will always be remembered on the shores of Lake Windermere. I can still hear Carol's famous giggle, it was the best. How fortunate I feel to have had the pleasure of knowing this sweety pie all my life. I have always thought of my Aunt Carol as such a charming and graceful person who handled herself with such dignity throughout anything that was handed to her. I will miss our chats on the phone and the way she would say
" O.K. Kimmer we will talk again soon" (I think I may have just tired her out from listening ha,ha,ha.) I love how my Mom compares my baking to Aunt Carol's because I know how good her's is. My heart aches for all of you and I wish you strength in knowing how many lives your beautiful Mom has touched. I will forever cherish my memories.

Carol stood next to me at the Palm Valley Country Club water aerobics class almost every day for the past 5 years, when she could. We exchanged observations on life, funny things we had heard, and the news of children and grandchildren.
I will miss her beautiful smile and most of all her terrific spirit.
