David Kason

David Medina Kason, 71, of Riverside, Calif. passed to a new life on September 27, 2010. He born on June 29, 1939 in San Dimas, Calif. to Mohammed Bakish Kason and Cecilia Medina Kason and his parents moved to the Coachella Valley in 1950 where he attended and graduated from Coachella Valley High School in 1957. He joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany where he spent most of his military career working as radio-teletype operator. After his return from the military, he became a counselor at the Youth Training School in Chino and continued his education earning his Bachelor's Degree in History at Cal State San Bernardino. He later became a Claims Adjuster and decided to open his own independent insurance business. He operated Mann and Kason Adjusters, Inc. successfully for 25 years. David was a member of the Riverside County Committee on School District Organization for several years and served on a variety of community organizations in the Jurupa area. His interests included cars, motorcycles, history, reading, woodworking, photography, music and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Delma Kason, of 47 years; his brother, Samuel Kason; his sisters, Rachel and Rebecca Kason; his daughter, Kathryn Kason Gonzalez; son David Navi Kason; grandsons, Darrin Kason, AJ Gonzalez and Robert Kason; granddaughters, Amber Holloway and Krystal Gonzalez and great-granddaughter, McKina Kason. A memorial service was held at 3:00pm, Monday, October 4, 2010 at St. John's Evangelist Church on 3980 Opal Street, Riverside, CA 92509 and a reception immediately following at Jurupa Hills Country Club on 6161 Moraga Avenue, Riverside, CA 92509.
