Dorothy Voorhees Obituary

Dorothy Voorhees, of Rancho Mirage, Calif. passed away peacefully on December 13, 2010, at the age of 95. Born August 27, 1915, she attended the University of Minnesota before moving to California where she pursued a career in social work. Always a caring and loving mother, she found time to become a gifted pianist. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Marcia Waggoner of La Quinta and Jan Voorhees of Silver City, N.M.; and a son, Michael Blaker of Rancho Mirage. She also leaves seven caring grandchildren, Stephanie Ice of Palm Desert, Corey Anguiano of Bermuda Dunes, Stacia Anguiano of Indio, Dana Davison of La Quinta, Bryan Waggoner of Palm Desert, Scott Blaker of Seoul, South Korea, and Kimberly Blaker of Wallkill, N.Y.; plus twelve great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Any gifts in her memory should be sent to the Visiting Nurses Association of the Coachella Valley, 42600 Cook St. #202, Palm Desert CA 92211.
