Edward C. Roeger

Edward C. Roeger, 101, of Palm Desert, California passed away September 15, 2010 in his home of natural causes. He was born April 12, 1909 in Cleveland, Ohio and lived in Palm Desert, California since 1989. He is survived by his two daughters, Eleanor Roeger of San Diego and Katherine Bracamonte of Palm Desert, along with four grandchildren, Troy Wohlgemuth of Louisville, Ky, James, Jessica and Katie Bracamonte of Palm Desert Calif. Mr. Roeger started his career as a radio operator in the Merchant Marine in 1929. After he married, he joined American Airlines as a Ground Supervisor where he was based in Washington, D.C. and Columbus, Ohio. He retired from American Airlines after 30 years. In his mid 50's, he decided to return to the Merchant Marine. He always loved his life at sea, and continued to work as a radio operator until the mandatory retirement age of 72. After retirement, he enjoyed photography, computers and the company of his beloved dog "Lady". The family would like to thank the staff at Legend Gardens and Mary Lou from VNA Hospice for the care and compassion shown to our Dad. Services will be private.
