Gertrude Welsh Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved Gertrude L. Welsh has passed away on September 30, 2010. Gertrude was born at her parent's house on March 4, 1921. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was a kind, thoughtful and loving person who liked to give. She is loved and will be greatly missed by her husband of 67 years, Ken; and their children, daughter, Carol Manning; and son, Ken Welsh. She has many relatives and friends who love and miss her. She was preceded in death by her son, Fred Welsh. Gertrude grew up in the Detroit, Mich. area and married Ken in 1943. They had three children and moved to So. California in the early 1950's where they worked and raised their family in Lakewood. In the early 1980's, they moved to Bermuda Dunes where Trudy spent hundreds of hours volunteering at JFK Hospital and made many friends in the area. Trudy always enjoyed the trips and family get-togethers. She will be greatly missed and will live and be loved in our memories. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

We loved Trudy and thought she was a beautiful lady inside and out. Occasionally we would go to lunch and we had such an enjoyable time. She was so in love with Kenny, her husband of 67 years. It was a joy to see them together. We will miss her but know that she is in a better place and free from pain and suffering.
