Harold Reich Obituary

Dr. Harold Edward Reich, 91, died peacefully in Palm Desert on January 22, 2013. Harold was born in Bridgeport Conn., on November 28, 1921, son of the late Morris and Sarah Goodruff Reich, and is survived by the love of his life Sandi, his partner for 26 years, his two sons,William Reich, Robert Reich and three granddaughters, Meredith (Eran) Liron, Alexis and Maren. He also leaves his sister Carolyn Reich Rosenfield, his nephew, Norm Rosenfield and his niece, Andrea (Neal) Marks, his beloved extended family, Paula, David (Robin), and Jay Swartz, Papa to Joshua, Jacob, Devon and Ryan Swartz. Also, his beloved cousins, Marcie(Richard) Sugarmann and Heidi (Norman)Hurwitz. Harold attended Yale University and graduated from the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry and practiced in Connecticut before moving to California where he was an owner/partner in the Theodor Handbag Company. Upon retiring, he worked for the Fred Sands Realty Co., in Los Angeles. Dr. Reich served his country during World War II as a First Lt. in the Aircorps in the South Pacific. He was a member of the professional fraternity, Omega Delta Epsilon and was a Thirty Second Degree Mason. He leaves his best friend he considered a brother, Marvin (Lynn) Pearlman, of Palm Desert, California, where Harold spent the last 20 years. We will all miss his great stories and sense of humor. Memoral service to follow in a few weeks.
