Jack Doll Obituary

Jack Meredith Doll Jack Meredith Doll lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. He was born in Oakland, Calif. on December 27, 1931. After high school graduation he served as a Gunner's Mate in the U.S. Coast Guard and received an honorable discharge in 1953. A long career in retail toy sales followed. Jack is survived by his wife, Judith Doll of Idyllwild, Calif. and Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; a son, Jake Doll of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Deb Grossheim of Yucaipa, Calif. and Lynda Rethaford of Riverside, Calif.; a brother, Jim Doll of Tucson, Ariz. as well as ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Doll; his father, Walter Doll; his mother, Esther Doll and his brother, Gordon Doll. Jack loved his family and friends, enjoyed international travel as well as camping in his R.V. He had homes in Calimesa, Calif., Sedona, Ariz., Timberon, N.M., Idyllwild, Calif. and Desert Hot Springs, Calif. A celebration of Jack's life will be held later this month.
