James Berntsen Obituary

James Quinton Berntsen went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2010. After a short battle with cancer Jim passed peacefully at home with his wife by his side. Jim was born on August 18, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Alvin and Ethel Berntsen. His family moved to Montebello, Calif. in 1937 where he lived and attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jim loved sports, fishing and USC Football but playing the guitar was his passion. He retired from Sparkletts Drinking Water after 30 years of service and moved to Palm Desert where he and his wife worked and eventually became the owners of Desert Falls Rentals and Sales. He loved engaging people in conversation and took great pride in his handyman skills. Jim leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Ceil Berntsen and children Debbie, David, Jamie, Jimmy and Donny as well as 8 grandchildren. He will greatly be missed and remembered for his kindness, love of life and his fantastic smile.
