John Williams Obituary

John Herman Williams, 75, of Indian Wells Calif. passed away on October 5, 2010 in Rancho Mirage Calif. John was born April 29, 1935 to John L. Williams and Helen Scherzinger in Long Beach, Calif. He married Caryl Rohrbach on September 12, 1992 in Indian Wells, Calif. He was the Deputy City Manager of Long Beach and General Manager of the Long Beach Gas and Electric Department. He worked for the City of Long Beach for 35 years. He was a member of the SAE Fraternity, Director of the FAMD of Indian Wells CC, President of the Colony HOA in Indian Wells CC, and Chairman of the Architectural Landscape Committee for the City of Indian Wells. He served in the Air Force Reserve. John is survived by his spouse Caryl Williams of Indian Wells Calif., Daughters Mindy Williams (Phil Polishuk) of Berkeley Calif., Shari Stokes (Danny of Corona Calif., Shelly Hartney (Bill) of Lake Elsinore Calif., Sons John S.Williams (Kellie) of Orinda Calif., Steven Rohrbach (Donna Sue) of Leon Iowa., and Scott Rohrbach of Moreno Valley Calif., brother Reese L. Williams of Long Beach Calif., 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 5-9pm at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City on October 12, 2010, with a service at the Ramon Chapel at 11am on October 13, 2010 at Forest Lawn, 69-855 E. Ramon Rd., Cathedral City Calif. Interment will be on October 18, 2010 at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City.
